Find the name for the two of you
A couple name is a single word made from both partners’ names — a nickname friends use, a handle for your joint account, or the name on your wedding sign.
Why couples love a shared name
It started as tabloid shorthand: Bennifer (Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez) in 2002, then Brangelina, TomKat and Kimye. Today, couples pick their own for Instagram, TikTok, joint email addresses, wedding hashtags and engagement announcements.
The best couple names are short, easy to say and keep a clear piece of each partner. That’s exactly what our scoring rewards.
Getting a better result
- Try both full names and nicknames — “Elizabeth + Jonathan” and “Liz + Jon” give very different blends.
- Use More of first / second if one name dominates too much.
- Switch to the Cute tab for pet names like “Jamie-boo”.
- Check the Classic tab for “Emma & James” style formats for invitations.

Frequently asked questions
How do you make a couple name?
Take the beginning of one partner’s name and the end of the other’s, ideally joining where they share a letter or sound. Ben + Jennifer becomes Bennifer because both names contain “en”. Our tool tests every possible join and ranks the ones that sound most natural.
Whose name should go first in a couple name?
Whichever sounds better! The tool tries both orders automatically. If you want to keep a particular order, put that name first and choose More of first — reversed blends are still shown but ranked lower.
What if our names don’t blend well?
Try nicknames or middle names, add your surname as a third name on the main combiner, or use the Classic tab (Emma & James, E&J). Some pairs simply work better as initials or a monogram.
Can same-sex couples use the couple name combiner?
Of course. The tool works with any two names — there are no gender assumptions in how names are blended.
Can we use our couple name as a username?
Yes. Copy it with one tap, then check availability on each platform. If it’s taken, add a word like “the”, “and co” or your city, or try a different blend from the list.
